About Skeylap
Skeylap measures how AI assistants describe a brand: whether it is mentioned, how it is described, and whether the facts are right. It is built by the Skeylap team.
What Skeylap measures
- Whether AI assistants mention your brand when a customer asks a relevant question.
- How the brand is described (sentiment and context), and whether the facts stated about it are accurate.
- Which competitors the assistants name instead.
- Whether AI crawlers can read your website, checked against your robots.txt (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, Claude-User, PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User and Google-Extended).
How a measurement works
- We prepare questions specific to your industry, written the way a real customer would ask them.
- We ask those questions to AI assistants. The free report covers Claude and Perplexity. Paid plans cover ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.
- We classify every answer: is the brand mentioned, in what context and sentiment, which competitors appear, and whether the facts are correct.
- We give you a report with a visibility score, a per-model breakdown, the crawler access check and concrete recommendations. Paid plans repeat the same questions every week so you can see whether anything actually changed.

What Skeylap does not do
- It is not an SEO tool and does not promise rankings.
- It does not guarantee results. No service can make an AI assistant like a brand more. Skeylap helps you find wrong or outdated information and measures whether the answers change over time.
How we measure ourselves
We ran a Skeylap report on skeylap.com on 4 October 2026: 40 answers from Claude and Perplexity (20 each), with a 40% mention rate. AI assistants barely know Skeylap yet, and we publish that starting point as it is. The measurement is repeated monthly with the same fixed set of questions. See the numbers and the answers themselves in the “We measured ourselves first” section of the home page.
